Customer awareness programmes on television frequently expose the inadequacies of well known antimicrobial products, but unfortunately those programmes have nothing to offer as a replacement. But what is very clear is that the established and traditional brand name products are lacking something.

An easy answer
There is a new answer that can be introduced easily and cheaply into every caring household where safety is important.

Introducing a Systems Approach is the key. Most people accept that computer systems need to be based on compatible component products, and the same applies with infection control. Most clean kitchen surfaces are covered in a very thin film of detergent, but what most people do not know is that most detergents inactivate most antibacterial products. So even though those antimicrobial products work in the laboratory they have very little chance of working in the average kitchen.
