NewGenn® in the leisure sector

The leisure sector is so diverse and vast that it offers a tremendous infection control challenge. People tolerate chlorine in the swimming pool but they do not like smelling chlorine or other noxious products in their state rooms on cruise ships. But cruise ships also need to be disinfected but traditional products are inadequate for modern needs.

Hotels face the same challenge. A rapid change of visitors but the economics of the sector mean that the infection control measures are implemented by room staff who are unlikely to have a good understanding of modern infection control needs.

There is a new answer that can be introduced within current budgets using existing staff numbers, an answer developed in collaboration with Government funding in an attempt to reduce the number of samples being sent to government laboratories.

Introducing a Systems Approach is the key. Most people accept that computer systems need to be based on compatible component products, and the same applies with infection control. Infection control products have traditionally been purchased on the basis of well-known supplier brand names but many established branded products commonly used in the leisure sector are incompatible with other branded products so the infection control aspect is destroyed. That destroys the infection control policy and infections can occur.

The NewGenn? mission statement includes the phrase "products that are effective in real life situations". Few companies have that phrase in their mission statement, an interesting omission when the risk of compensation in this sector is so high.

Greatest confidence can only be achieved by purchasing infection control products from companies that utilise a proven systems approach.
